Scripture suggests that each of us has a responsibility that extends not only to a brother or sister, but also to the stranger. Unfortunately, mass media images often reinforce stereotypes and provide an erroneous base of information that can form lasting impressions of other religious traditions and those who practice them. Having an informed awareness of other faiths allows us to recognize religious stereotyping, identify harmful misconceptions, and more fully understand our own faith.
